Angela Smith
Smith was Labour MP for Penistone and Stockbridge, after having joined the party aged 16. While in office, Smith was one of 71 MPs that signed a petition calling for the re-opening of the Trans-Pennine Express, and has supported the growth of rail infrastructure in the north. Smith has openly disagreed with Jeremy Corbyn over the re-nationalisation of the water network, arguing that pressure on state funding could lead to the UK being unable to maintain its current standards of beach cleanliness and water quality.
