Anna Soubry
Soubry was Conservative MP for Broxtowe in Nottinghamshire and was first elected in 2010. During the 1970s at Birmingham University she was the only Conservative member of the National Executive Committee of the NUS. Prior to entering politics, she studied law, and was a journalist and news presenter. In 2013, she campaigned vocally for same-sex marriage to be legalised alongside Caroline Lucas, and present TIG MP Sarah Wollaston. She was also an advocate for plain packaging on cigarettes and has said cannabis should be legalised.
